ALL I’M TRYING TO SAY

You said you were with me because I didn't want to change you, well that's just me.

Then you left because I wouldn't change and be what you wanted me to be.

There were things that kept us together and there were things that drove you away.

It just seems to me that those things are close to being the same, is all I'm trying to say.

You said I didn't need all the pictures that other guys had of you online because I had you.

As it turns out, baby, that just wasn't true.

You said not to worry about the guys you talked to online that you would never play.

Now you're not with me, you're with one of them, is all I'm trying to say.

You said I drove you crazy, I asked how and you said if I only knew.

I know that wasn't true because if I drove you crazy, you wouldn't have said we're through.

You do drive me crazy and I think about you every day.

I wanted you more than you wanted me, is all I'm trying to say.

For all the things you had wrong with you that caused you so much pain,

Some things you knew what they were and some you couldn't explain.

I worried about every ache and pain every day.

I just wanted you to feel good, is all I'm trying to say.

To go from being loved to not being loved is hard to understand.

It's hard to go from being the one to now you have another man.

My heart misses you so, as I try to make it through another day.

The thought of never seeing you again makes me cry, is all I'm trying to say.

They say that time heals all; I don't think that's true.

An eternity can pass and I will still be thinking of you.

My love for you will always be in my heart, but someday the tears will go away.

Someday the hold you have on my soul will stop so I can love again, is all I'm trying to say.

During those few months when I was yours and you were mine,

I was truly in love for that short amount of time.

Sometimes love has a price that has to be paid someday.

When the bill for love came, I'm the only one that had to pay, is all I'm trying to say.

When it's rained all it can rain, when I've bled all I can bleed,

When all the seasons have passed and you've sown all your seeds,

It's time to move on and let things lie where they lay.

I need to do like you and find a new love, is all I'm trying to say.
