ON THIS VALENTINE’S DAY
On this Valentine’s Day you give me
hope when darkness devours the light.
You give me strength, when all is lost,
to stand up and fight.
You give me the will to understand the
things that are in sight.
You give me a hug so I will know
everything is alright.
You give me your touch when I'm feeling
down.
You give me your time when I need you
around.
You give me a look that makes my heart
shine.
You give me a kiss that lets me know
you're mine
You give me the words that make my life
rhyme.
You give me the songs that make the
bells chime.
You give me peace when things go awry.
You give me answers when my mind asks
why.
You give me the might to battle the
demons that want to possess my soul.
You give me the power to stop my
enemies from reaching their goal.
You give me comfort for the times that
I bleed.
You give me understanding for the
things that I read.
You give me a friend when I'm really in
need.
You give me a smile for every little
deed.
You give me peace of mind when things
get a little crazy.
You give me will power when I get a
little lazy.
You give me a place when I need to rest
my bones.
You give me space when I need to be
alone.
You give me food when I need to eat.
You give me solid ground when I need a
place to put my feet.
You give me tenderness when the world
gets a little rough.
You give me a shoulder when crying just
ain't enough.
You give me your beauty just to
brighten up my day.
You give me inspiration for the words I
need to say.
You give me faith when I have nothing
to believe.
You give me gifts when I have nothing
to receive.
For all the things you give me, I
should give you the world I suppose.
But on this Valentine’s Day all I can
give you are me and this single red rose.
