ONE MORE TIME

If I could whisper I love you in your ear

And tell you how much I need you dear.

If I could hear you tell me that you are mine.

If I could hold you in my arms . . . one more time.

If I could go back to when you were just for me,

I would do things differently because now I know how it should be.

To change things back there's no mountain I wouldn't climb

If I could only kiss your lips . . . one more time.

To have you back there's no place I wouldn't run.

If I could turn back time I would fly to the sun.

To have you want me the way I want you would be so fine.

If I could just hold your hand . . . one more time.

If I could start over knowing how things would end,

I would do it all over because I still have my memories of a lover and a friend.

Life goes by now with no reason and no rhyme.

If I could just feel your touch . . . one more time.

If I ask you if you've cried for me, what would you say?

Because at some point I cry for you every day.

To be in love alone like this seems like a crime.

If I could just hear your voice . . . one more time.

There are so many things I just don't understand.

I'm thinking that in some way my age may have played a hand.

I know I'm no spring chicken and I'm certainly not in my prime.

If I could only walk with you side by side . . . one more time.

You used to say I was looking at you like you were in trouble.

But it was only my love trying to get out and bust its little bubble.

I know to all the things I should have been doing I was surely blind.

If I could only gaze deep into your eyes . . . one more time.

I hope you do well, I hope life treats you kind.

I hope that you think of me from time to time.

Because, baby, you are always on my mind.

If I could only have you be mine forever . . . one more time.
