JUST A MAN

 OK, here it is, I'm just a man that lives and breathes.

If you beat me I bruise and if you cut me I bleed.

I'm just a man, nothing special I try hard and still make mistakes.

I've made my share of bad decisions, I'm sure most can relate.

I'm just a man with dreams and hopes,

Trying to take life day by day just trying to cope.

I'm just a man with a beginning and an end,

And just like anyone else, I could really use a friend.

I'm just a man, when life goes wrong I will ask why.

Like most I try to be strong, but if you hurt me deeply I will cry.

I'm just a man that has feelings of triumph, failure, and fear.

I have feelings of disappointment and laughter and some feelings that brings a tear.

I'm just a man; I feel emotions from the songs we sang.

I've felt happy and sad, I love and hate, and mostly I've felt pain.

I'm just a man with wants and needs and plans.

I pray that when it comes down to the things I believe in, I can take a stand.

OK, here's the thing, I'm just a man, no superhero here to be found

I'm not going to save the world; I can't jump tall buildings in a single bound

I'm just a man, I don't want to rule the world or find treasures that are buried all around

I just want to find my place in this world and make a mark on this ground

I'm just a man searching for the promised land by trying to find the right door.

I've done all the things expected of me, I even fought my war.

I'm just a man; I can't find your cure or tell of things to come.

I can't tell you who's right or wrong, only on which side I run.

I'm just a man; I eat, sleep and drink.

I take things head on, but if they come too fast I blink.

I'm just a man, if something smells bad I say it stinks.

If something is not working, I'll stop and think.

I'm just a man that needs a soul for my soul.

To be alone on life's journey too long will take its toll.

I'm just a man, when I need help I want someone that will hold my hand.

I need a lover that will know who I am, because at the end of the day, I'm just a man.
