ALL THESE THINGS

When I found you, I was lost and there was hope that you would bring.

Now that I've lost you, all I have are memories of all these things.

The first time I saw you, you were sitting in the back of your truck.

You were sitting on the tailgate trying to keep warm and feeding the ducks.

There was the first kiss when it was starting to rain.

It drove me crazy; I thought you felt the same.

Holding your hand ignited a large spark.

I wanted to hold you in my arms right there in the park.

We went to action packed movies with car chases and fights.

We saw movies with haunting and ghosts with plenty of fright.

Now you have so much more that your new life brings.

You have no reason to remember all these things.

I held you in my arms while you trembled through the night.

I didn't know what was wrong so I just held you tight.

Being with you made me feel like a king.

No matter what happens in my life, I will still have all these things.

We would go out to eat at places like Copeland's or China Doll and some of the chains.

But mostly when we went out to eat it was at Cane's.

Sometimes we would just walk through the mall.

As long as I was with you, I always had a ball.

Sometimes we would just sit and talk for hours on end.

It seemed like there was more there than just being a friend.

When we weren't together, when we were out of each other’s sight,

We would talk on the computer or send text messages sometimes 'till it was light.

I would try to nibble on your ears and you would say stop, it was our little game.

You said if I nibbled, clothes would come off and I would be to blame.

Being with you made me feel like I could fly, like I had wings.

Now I have nothing left but memories of all these things.

When we could be alone, we cuddled and made love and I held you all night long.

It always felt so right; it never felt like anything was wrong.

I knew from the beginning there were never any strings,

But how can you just walk away and forget about all these things.
