THE RIDE

You won't see it coming and you won't see it go.

Something is about to happen and you won't even know.

It will come at you fast and leave you slow.

You will feel like you've been in a brawl standing toe to toe.

You try to get up and it knocks you down.

You try to go right and it spends you around.

You try to go forward and it pushes you back.

You try to keep it taught but all you get is slack.

There seems to be no reason and there seems to be no rhyme.

You try to see why but the reason you cannot find.

You don't know where you are and you've lost all track of time.

You seem to be so dizzy and you think you've lost your mind.

You don't know what's right and you don't know what's wrong.

You don't know where you are and don't know where you belong.

You don't know if it's daytime, you don't know if it's night.

You thought you had things in focus but seem to be losing sight.

You got lost in a loving stare,

Then looked around and no one was there.

How can love feel so good then leave you in such pain.

First things look so sunny, and then all you get is rain.

They say to move on that time heals all wounds.

But in a place that is void of all time wounds don't heal too soon.

You keep going; going straight to hell on this road that never bends.

You pray that you can turn around but this road keeps going and never ends

You thought you were booked on a boat full of love,

Holding on to someone you thought was sent from the stars above.

Instead you boarded a train with no tracks,

And it's headed toward the sun and it ain't coming back.

If love comes and grabs you and takes you away,

Don't fight it because there's nothing you can do, nothing you can say.

No matter what you do, everything's been done everything's been tried.

All you can do when love has control is sit back and go for the ride.
