HERE AND THERE
I'm going nowhere and I'm getting there
fast.
I'm going nowhere and I'm getting there
first you can bet your ass.
I'm going somewhere but I don't know
where.
Whenever I get there I'll know I'm
there.
I have places to go and people to see.
I don't know them and they don't know
me.
I have been to places and there were
people that I've seen.
Some people were good and some were
down right mean.
If I'm here I can't be there, you see.
But if I'm there, here is where I want
to be.
When I'm here you'll have to agree,
The person you'll see will always be me.
Wherever I am, that's where I'm at.
Whatever I'm after, that's what I'll
get.
I get what I want because that's how
you succeed.
Sometimes to hold on to these things
you may have to bleed.
There are things that we think we need to survive,
And when we get them we think we have
arrived.
The more that we get the more we think
we need.
Then just trying to survive turns into
greed.
Wherever I go I see people that stare.
It's not because I'm there because they
just don't care.
It just seems that I'm not what they
bought.
I am what I am and that's what I
brought.
You want to go up but you keep going
down.
The meaning of life is something you
think you have found.
You look left and you look right as you
try to find the light.
Round and round you kick and fight and
still you won't make it through the night.
You can have everything
living your life just so.
You can have it all and still have
nothing to show.
Holding on to things of price, there's something you should know.
You don't own anything because
you can't take it with you when you go.
