RICH MAN
POOR MAN
The
rich man has to have everything so perfect from his toes to his face.
No
wrinkles in sight, always clean and shiny, not even a hair out of place.
The
poor man has lines of wisdom that run across his face like a map.
You
can look in his eyes and see the knowledge there on tap.
The
rich man takes what he doesn’t need, just because he can and it's fun.
He
takes all that he can from those in need, and then tosses them to the side when
he's done.
The
poor man is in plain sight, but no one really wants to see.
You
never know what's going to happen in life, that poor man could be you or me.
The
rich man thinks everyone owes him for the right to be in his sight.
The
rich man thinks that everyone else is wrong and only he is right.
The
poor man, just to talk to the rich man has to get on a list.
And
when the poor man is gone, by the rich man, he will never be missed.
The
rich man feels that he has to show you what he's got.
He
feels he needs to show you where he stays at the top.
The
poor man doesn't have anything to show because he doesn’t have a lot.
No
place to go, even after he dies, not even a plot.
The
rich man with all his money just wants more.
If
he sees a poor man, he just shuts the door.
The
poor man just wants his own little place.
He
wants to have a little of the good life; maybe just a taste.
The
rich man has never had to worry about if he could pay his bills.
He
wants to be in the fast lane looking for all the wild thrills.
The
poor man struggles just to make ends meet.
He
works twelve hours a day standing on his feet.
The
rich man always moving going to and fro
Has
made his plans and knows where he wants to go.
The
poor man’s plans are as simple as it goes;
He
wants to make it through the day and that's all he knows.
The
rich man with his cars, yachts, and planes,
Worries
about everything 'till he's almost insane.
The
poor man gets around by walking and thumbing, or the best way that he can find.
But
at the end of the day, after all is said and done, the poor man has more peace
of mind.
