THE LONELY
HEART
When
the sun goes down and there's no one around,
The
lonely heart sits all alone without making a sound.
All
the pretty people are out on the town having fun,
While
the lonely heart sits at home having none.
There
is someone for everyone says the old songs,
But
tell that to the lonely heart that's just looking for a place to belong.
The
pretty people always have a shiny light that beams.
The
lonely heart sits in the dark and goes to a place called dreams.
You
can have so much money you don't know what to do.
They
say money can't buy love and that is oh so true.
You
can have someone that is always there and will never part.
You
can be surrounded by a hundred from sunrise till dark and still have a lonely
heart.
Even
If you're on the road to success that never seems to stop,
Even
if you've worked your way all the way to the top,
Like
they say, ‘it's lonely at the top,’ right from the very start;
The
heart gets hungry for what it needs, but success cannot feed a lonely heart.
Even
if you're popular and go to all the right spots,
Even
if you're the wild one that makes things rock,
Even
if you make the other hearts fall apart,
You
can still go home with a lonely heart.
You
can live in a mansion or have all your things in a cart.
You
can rub elbows with the rich and famous or sleep in the park.
You
can be someone that never gets things right or be the one that always hits his
mark.
You
can be right or wrong; you can be week or strong and still be left with a
lonely heart.
The
lonely heart searches for love doing what it does best.
Sometimes
the lonely heart will search for a lifetime on a futile quest.
The
lonely heart knows what it wants and will show its might.
When
the lonely heart finds a heart to love it will put up a fight.
Sometimes
the lonely heart can find a heart to be with till the day they die.
Sometimes
the lonely heart only finds hearts that make them cry.
The
lonely heart never gives up and sometime they do things that aren't too smart,
But
every night when they close their eyes to dream, they are never lonely hearts.
