YOU SAY WE’RE JUST FRIENDS
You say we’re just
friends and I believe you.
That’s OK as long
as we kiss the way that we do.
You say friends
don’t say I love you,
But are always
there to hold you when you’re blue.
You say we’re just
friends so you won’t have to be alone.
That’s OK as long
as I can touch you and make you moan.
You say the word
friend sometimes is misunderstood,
That it’s OK for friends
to make friends feel good.
You say we’re just
friends and can never be two.
I know you and I
know what you say is true.
You say that being
friends is just for fun,
And when it’s all
over we will still be one.
You say we’re just
friends and not lovers,
Because if we want
we can have others.
You say that
friends and lovers set a different tone.
Lovers tend to
smother and friends go home.
I know we’re just
friends is what I say.
But I can’t help
thinking about you every day.
I know being your
friend I’ve met my match,
Because you are so
afraid of getting attached.
I know we’re just
friends and that’s what I’m believin’.
You say some day
you may be leavin’.
I know the word
love is a no no,
But what will I do
when you do go.
I know we’re just
friends and I understand,
But still, in my
heart, I want to be your man.
If I start to
smother just use this plan.
Tell me it’s time
to get up and go home, Stan.
You say we’re just
friends and I believe it.
I know that
friends like you are hard to get.
I know I’m not
your one and only,
But please think
of me when you’re feeling lonely.
