WHEN I’M
GONE
All the little
things that I do lately that make you mad,
Someday you’ll
think back of these things and be sad.
All the little
things that work on your nerves, as the day is long,
Someday you’ll
realize that you deserved when I’m gone.
All the little
things that seem to cause you pain,
Someday you’ll
realize, I didn’t cause your rain.
All the little
things you say I did wrong,
Will be the things
you miss most when I’m gone.
All the little
things that seem to make you blue,
Someday will be
the things that make you smile, when we’re through.
All the times you
had to get the last word at the sound of the gong,
Will seem so
absurd when I’m gone.
All the times that
you had to play your song,
Someday you’ll
realize there was a place it didn’t belong.
All the times you
did things that you knew were wrong,
Someday maybe
you’ll understand when I’m gone.
All the times you
just had to be right,
Someday will seem
dumb, when I’m out of sight.
All the times that
everything had to be your way, when it’s all said and done,
Someday you’ll see
it was one of many things that drove me away when I’m gone.
Although I know
the times may be rare,
Someday you might
look back and wish you had cared.
There will come a
time for the old times you will long,
But all you will have
are memories when I’m gone.
