THERE’S
NOTHING THERE
I see things from the corner of my eye,
Things that move and things that fly.
At first I freeze from this little scare,
Then I quickly turn but there’s nothing
there.
There’s a shadow where there’s no light
to be found.
I can feel a presence so I turn around.
I turn around fast but everything is
moving slow.
I know I saw something but where did it
go.
I see a reflection in the window so I try
to move with stealth.
Maybe it’s just a reflection of myself.
I approach the window and give it a
stare.
I study it hard, but there’s nothing
there.
There’s a face in the darkness that’s
eyes seem to glow.
Part of me wants to look away and part of
me wants to know.
I head into the darkness with chills that
say beware.
I grasp at the vision, but there’s
nothing there.
A shadow walks by just as I look away.
I get a glimpse so I call out, but it has
nothing to say.
I follow the footsteps without giving a
care.
I follow all the way to the hall’s end,
but there’s nothing there.
I’m not sure and I don’t really know,
But somewhere in the darkness I think I see
the eyes that glow.
Breathing fast and very much in despair,
Into the dark I run, but there’s nothing
there.
I hear a distant voice that keeps calling
my name.
I don’t like this game, I feel like I’m
going insane.
I follow the voice and I have no fear.
Now if you think you see me, there will
be nothing there.
If you see me out of the corner of your
eye,
If you hear a voice don’t bother to
reply.
If you feel you should follow, you should
not dare.
Just look away and say to yourself, there’s
nothing there.
