IN
THIS WORLD WHERE NOTHING LAST
In this world where nothing last
We live for the future and dream of the
past.
To live till tomorrow is what we pray.
But if we could, we would go back in
time for one special day.
In this world where nothing last
Visions of forever are hard to grasp.
We speak to our Gods searching for a
guide,
But in the end all we can do is hang on
for the ride.
In this world where nothing last
We go through each day performing our
task.
We try to find a reason for our existence,
But there are no answers, only
resistance.
In this world where nothing last
We try to hold on but life goes too
fast.
It seems like it’s over in the blink of
an eye.
I try not to blink but time still passes
by.
In this world where nothing last
It seems like our hearts are made of
glass.
Whenever words of love are spoken
Our hearts end up forever broken.
In this world where nothing last
We try to keep what we love tight in our
grasp.
When holding on to a love there’s
something you should know.
Don’t hold on too tight if you want it
to grow.
In this world where nothing last
We find ourselves looking for greener
grass.
Sometimes life gets to be too tense.
Everything looks better on the other
side of the fence.
We search for forever to no avail.
We try to find a way out, but there is
no bail.
Everything eventually runs out of gas
In this world where nothing last.
