I WRITE POETRY IN MY HEAD
As I'm walking I see the birds flying
in the sky,
I smell the flowers as I pass by,
I pass by a barn that's painted red,
I keep walking down the road and I
write poetry in my head.
I hear music flowing through the air.
I feel the wind blowing softly on my
face, from I don't know where.
I hear the rhythm and the rhyme and all
the words that are said.
I listen while the singer sings his
song and I write poetry in my head.
The day is long but I made it through.
The sun goes down and I know there is
so much left to do.
My bones are tired, it's dark, and so I
go to bed.
I close my eyes, I try to quiet my
mind, and I write poetry in my head.
On life's road there are many paths and
choices to make.
One path was dark, one was cold and one
only a fool would take.
None of these paths were for me, so I
made my own path instead.
So I go through life on the path I made
and I write poetry in my head.
I rise with the sun and I have a list
of things that need to be done.
I have places to go and people to see,
some are work and some are fun.
There are lessons to be learned and a
soul that needs to be fed.
I hear people talking as places go
passing by and I write poetry in my head.
There's paintings on the ceiling and
writing on the wall.
There are messages in the sand that I don't
understand at all.
There's code within a code within
things that will never be read.
I've seen the words of the wise and I
write poetry in my head.
I get up in the morning and another day
I face my fears.
The darkness isn't always what's scary;
sometimes it's your peers.
Even in the brightest light, there are
things in life I dread.
I just take everything as it comes and
I write poetry in my head.
Life can be hard and it moves so fast.
No matter how good or bad your life is,
it's not going to last.
Throughout my life I fought some
battles and sometimes I bled.
One day my battles will be over, and
for eternity I will write poetry in my head.
