SEARCHING FOR GOD

Searching for God
Searching for God can try man's soul
If you find nothing, it will leave you empty and cold.
It's hard to find what you can't see or hear.
Your search may leave you shedding a tear.

I've been searching for God in all the wrong places.
Maybe to see God, we should look at each other's faces.
I've been searching for a God that watches what we do.
I've listened to those that say they know what's true.

I've been searching for a heavenly being,
One that's all-knowing and all-seeing,
One that watches over our little pod.
Maybe it's not one, but many things that are God.

Maybe, God is a bird soaring high in the sky.
He could be the colorful beauty of a butterfly.
God could be a flower that grows wild in a field.
It could be that God is the sun with power to wield.

Searching for God could be as simple as standing in a breeze.
For all we know, God could be a mighty oak tree.
Maybe God is a mountain, standing majestic and strong.
God could be the moon that inspires a song.

Searching for God could be as easy as watching a baby sleep.
Maybe God is an ocean that runs so deep.
God could be time that runs so steady and true.
Could God be a prism that makes beautiful colors for me, and you?

Maybe you see God in a dream that comes in the night.
You could feel a presence from something in your sight.
God could be the power that holds the universe together.
When you find God, do you also find his transgressor?

Searching for God is something that comes from within.
When you find God, you also find all your sins.
I think God is everything below our feet to the stars above,
But most of all, I think God is love.
