I LOST SOMEONE

I LOST SOMEONE

I lost someone oh so very long ago.
It didn’t happen fast, it happened rather slow.
I never saw it in the beginning, but it was all I could see at the end.
There was no use trying to deny it, no use to pretend.

I lost someone that may never come back.
Gone is my direction that just got off track.
I lost someone and you can see it in my eyes.
Gone is the truth, leaving nothing but lies.

I lost someone with a smile that got me through the day.
Gone is my heart that just went away.
I lost someone with a passion for whatever life would bring.
Gone was the love for words, colors and the birds that sing.

I lost someone that I’ve known since the beginning of time.
Gone is the reason I make words rhyme.
I lost someone that helped me when all I could see were blues.
Gone are the rainbows and all its wonderful hues.

I lost someone that would guide me through the storm.
Gone is my blanket that always kept me warm.
I lost someone that was my light when it was dark.
Gone is the reason there was love in my heart.

I lost someone that sheltered me from the rain.
Gone is the medicine that took away the pain.
I lost someone that always put me to the test.
Gone is the reason to try and do my best.

I lost someone that always knew the right words to say.
Gone is the will to make it through the day.
I lost someone that always knew how to find my desire.
Gone is the spark that would set me on fire.

I lost someone that used to feed my soul.
Gone are the dreams that were once my goal.
I lost someone that I know better than you, you see
The someone I lost . . . was me.

LET'S ORDER ANOTHER ROUND

LET’S ORDER ANOTHER ROUND

Let’s go sit down and have a drink or maybe a few.
We can talk about what went wrong between me and you.
To say everything was all your fault, I would be remiss.
So let’s order another round, get drunk, and reminisce.

You can get one of those ladies drinks and I’ll get a shot.
The tequila will burn going down and I’ll remember things long forgot.
Things might begin to surface about long lost bliss.
So let’s order another round, get drunk, and reminisce.

I can tell my side and you can tell yours,
Then take another drink of our magical cures.
We can talk about how we met and that very first kiss.
So let’s order another round, get drunk, and reminisce.

There’s no reason to talk about the pain.
The time has passed for who’s at blame.
There were bad times but still there are things we will miss.
So let’s order another round, get drunk, and reminisce.

I know there was love, at least it seemed that way.
Whatever it was, whatever was there, in time just went astray.
There was you, and there was me, but together we couldn’t coexist.
So let’s order another round, get drunk, and reminisce.

There are those that stay in your life and those that are barely a note.
For those that stay there are stories that are wrote.
We’ve learned a lot from our life stories but at what expense.
So let’s order another round, get drunk, and reminisce.

Let’s talk about whatever pops in our head.
Let’s talk about things that have never been said.
We can talk about the things at the top of your list.
So let’s order another round, get drunk, and reminisce.

We both know we’ve changed directions and things have come to an end.
I don’t know about you but I can always use a friend.
If you need an ear have no fear, I’ll be your audience.
So let’s order another round, get drunk, and reminisce.
