I LOST SOMEONE
I lost someone oh so very long ago.
It didn’t happen fast, it happened
rather slow.
I never saw it in the beginning, but it
was all I could see at the end.
There was no use trying to deny it, no
use to pretend.
I lost someone that may never come back.
Gone is my direction that just got off
track.
I lost someone and you can see it in my
eyes.
Gone is the truth, leaving nothing but
lies.
I lost someone with a smile that got me
through the day.
Gone is my heart that just went away.
I lost someone with a passion for
whatever life would bring.
Gone was the love for words, colors and
the birds that sing.
I lost someone that I’ve known since the
beginning of time.
Gone is the reason I make words rhyme.
I lost someone that helped me when all I
could see were blues.
Gone are the rainbows and all its
wonderful hues.
I lost someone that would guide me through the storm.
Gone is my blanket that always kept me
warm.
I lost someone that was my light when it
was dark.
Gone is the reason there was love in my
heart.
I lost someone that sheltered me from
the rain.
Gone is the medicine that took away the
pain.
I lost someone that always put me to the
test.
Gone is the reason to try and do my
best.
I lost someone that always knew the
right words to say.
Gone is the will to make it through the
day.
I lost someone that always knew how to
find my desire.
Gone is the spark that would set me on
fire.
I lost someone that used to feed my
soul.
Gone are the dreams that were once my
goal.
I lost someone that I know better than
you, you see
The someone I lost . . . was me.
