I MAY NOT ALWAYS KNOW
I may not always know the right thing
to do.
I do know it feels right being with you.
I may not always know the right thing
to say.
When I say your name it turns night
into day.
I may not always know the words to your
song.
I think I know enough to try and sing
along.
I may not always know what to believe
when I look at the sky.
I know when I look deep into your eyes
I believe I can fly.
I may not always know which way I
should go.
Sometimes I may have said yes when I
should have said no.
I may not always know how to be all
that clever.
When you say you love me, I feel I can
live forever.
I may not always know when the time is
right.
Sometimes I walk away when I should
stand and fight.
I may not always know if I’m on the
right road.
Sometimes it seems like all the signs
are written in code.
I may not always know if I should steal
a kiss.
When I’m all alone it’s your kiss I
miss.
I may not always know if something is a
dream or if it’s real.
One kiss from your lips and my wounded
heart began to heal.
I may not always know which way is up
and which way is down.
I do know I feel alive whenever you are
around.
I may not always know my left from my
right.
I know when it’s as dark as it can get
I can always see your light.
I may not always know how to step back
and let things be.
Sometimes I have a key and still can’t
get free.
I may not always know when to keep my
feet on the ground.
Then there you are saying I love you
without making a sound.
I may not always know when I’ve stayed
too long.
When I’m in your arms, I feel like
that’s where I belong.
I may not always know what’s real in
this game of love.
I do know your soul fits my soul like a
glove.
